A Man, A Servant, A Sacrifice

Philippians 2:6-8

Christ himself was like God in everything. BUT He did not think that being equal with God was something to be used for His own benefit.

But he gave up his place with God and made himself nothing. He was born to Be a Man and Became Like a Servant.

And when He was a man He fully humbled himself and was fully obedient to God. Even when that caused his death – Death on the Cross.

Let that Sink in just a little bit. ....

What do you do with your talents, with your skills, job title, connection, your place in your little world? Odds are you, like me, have used them to better yourself in some way. Get a better job, get a better car, better house, or impress some people from time to time. Could you give it all up?

Here is a man who was like God in everyway. He had the title, He had the connections, He had the power, but He used none of it for himself. He gave up the title and his place to become a servant. In fact he used them only to humble himself in obedience to death – death on a cross.
