This is a little shot of Addison's first trip to the park. Don't worry she was fine. I was not however...ha

My Girls

Thought I would share a couple of videos of my girls. Being a dad is so stinking cool, that I can't stand it some times. Never a dull moment....but then again sometimes never a silent moment.

I love it when Ella gets a hold of the flip! You never know what you are going to get. You have to watch it all the way through to get the full effect.

Addison is REALLY trying to tell us something important.

End of an era...

Today, today i sold my Dodge Dakota. It's a somber, bittersweet moment in my life. I'm not one to hold on to stuff. I'm not a pack rat at all. I have had it for 12 years and I'm not real sure that I'm ready to part with it. Even though I have a newer Dodge Nitro to help ease the pain a bit, I'm still going to miss the Dakota. I tried to convince the wife to let me keep it a little longer, but to no success. I just feel like I've sold a part of me. Isn't that silly?

I got the Dakota 2 days before graduating from High School in '97, at age 18. Twelve years later, it's just as sweet as it was the day it pulled down my driveway for the first time. I've practically grown up with it; from a kid, to a college man, husband, and now a father. When i got it, it had 700 miles on it and now still only has 94, 000.

I spent Friday shining it up real good for a couple of test drives by perspective families.

The winner?

A young man who is in his 2nd year of college. He too is a Dakota fan. His first automobile was a white Dodge Dakota, that was trimmed out with a bed cover, rims, and ground effects. A couple of years ago he hit a light poll and totaled the truck. I was told his test drive brought back some old memories, it was love at first site. I trust he will take as good of care, and enjoy the Dakota as much as I did.

I have the Dakota for one more week...and then it's good by old friend.

DecemBeard

I missed No Shave November for the second year in a row. So I participated in Decembeard. A term given by my good friend Andy. It sort of happened on a whim. I needed a little stubble for my Redneck scene in our annual Christmas Dinner Theater. At the end of the event I thought, "I've never had a beard, and it's been a few days since my last shave. Why Not!"

And a few days later there it was in all it's glory. My first beard. I it carried around for right at a month and received several comments.

-My Wife - " I hate it, shave your face! Mountain Man!"
-My Ella - "Dad your face is nasty - go wash it."
-My Dad - "Are you growing beard?"
-My Mom - "Woa! What beard!" ....many times repeatedly within a span of 5 minutes
-Rodney - "Ha! What's on your face."
-Brittni - "You really have a lot of hair on your face."
-Church Member - "It makes you look older. More manly. I can take you more seriously."
-Jennifer - "You kinda look like the Unabomber!" - when i was wearing a hoodie jacket over my head

I shaved this morning. and now my face is kinda cold and lonely. I thought about some alternatives to the beard but not real sure as to which is more me. I really like the Mutton Chops, but actually returned to the good ole trusty soul patch (aka a mouche). But which one do you think I could pull of?

A. Friendly Mutton Chops

B. Horseshoe mustache and Soulpatch

C. Mustache and SoulPatch

For more info on bears check out this site I found - after I shaved...arghh.
