16 Days...

It's been 16 days since my last post...that's sad. Over the last couple of days I've been thinking.

"Man I need to get back to writing, I've got so much to catch up on."
"Do I back track and catch folks up, or just start from now and try to stay current?"
"If there was anyone who read my stuff consistently I bet they've probably given up."
"Should I even waist, my time?"
Well to be honest over the last 16 days, some pretty stinking God Amazing Things have happened!

1) I am taking a mission group to Honduras in June, I've been praying and planning for this trip since about Nov. of last year.
  • Originally it was myself and 9 teenagers going with a cost of about $1600.
  • Over the last couple of Months God has brought me 5 other adults who have committed to this trip.
  • Plane tickets that were originally $600 - $1000 per person were bought @ $300.84
  • So now I am taking 14 individuals for less than the original 9.
2) I was asked to speak at the funeral of woman that I barely knew,
but will never forget.

Ms. Cathy Jones is the grandmother of one of my teenagers. She had been in the hospital since the beginning of January with many heart conditions and other complications. She had punched death in the mouth on more than a couple of occasions, and was determined each day was going to be a good day.I have never met someone so special. I went to visit and encourage her in the hospital the first time and left more encouraged and motivated about life than before I went in. The family said she connected with me and talked about me. The last time a went to visit last month was just a couple of days before my surgery. Over the next couple of weeks she would ask if anyone knew how I was doing. Ms. Jones had been in the hospital for almost 4 months and was more concerned about my little outpatient procedure than herself. She truly was an angel and I was honored and humbled to be able honor her this week.

3) I received a HANDWRITTEN letter from a student.
That doesn't happen much. And when it does, it's really special. This young man is an amazing individual and I am so glad to see him back in our church family. I can't wait to see what God does in him and through him. That's why you never give up.

4)God is really doing amazing things in FaithPointe Students.
I have a great bunch of adult leaders that are working on connecting with our growing number of students. I feel like more and more of our students are stepping up and inviting friends to church and ministering to them.

Last night was an amazing service with student pouring their hearts out in worship before their Father. At least 3 accepted Christ and 4 were filled with the Holy Spirit. That makes for about 29 commitments so far this year (the actual count is in the office). The most we've ever had since I've been here, and it's just April! We are taking 44 students to camp this year - another record. The most before this year was about 40 with leaders.

All Glory goes to Jesus Christ who's life saving power is changing lives at FaithPointe Students.

5)I've made a new short, super sweet (i think so anyways) video of my Ella.
