In my 5th Post on Vision, sort of documenting the newness God is sort of bringing to our Youth Ministry, He is helping me clarify our values. I have always sort of knew what was important to our ministry, but never solidified it to a point that it could be articulated by both students and leaders. If I can't easily describe it how can my students. It should be part of the driving force behind the things that we do and teach. So without further adue...our values:
1)Worship - Far above anything else, I want our ministry to be an obvious place of worship. This sort of ties in to a series that I just finished on Worship. At FaithPointe Students making sure everything we do is a Response to God for who He is and what He's done and will do..... is priority numero uno.
2)Acceptance - In a world of myspace, facebook, and others where teenagers are just wanting to be accepted, but not necisarily by being themself. FaithPointe Students is a a place where everyone is accepted and loved regardless of background, skin, bank account, secret or public sin.
3)Change - When we worship God and love those He brings to us, I can't help but believe that hearts will be changed. FaithPointe Students is a place where hearts and lives are changed through the love and power of Jesus Christ.
4)Challenge - I have said repeatedly over the years that Christians are responsible for more than just getting saved and staying safe. We have a responsibility to Grow and to Go. We should be growing into the relationship and purpose He has called us to and going to those who are lost without Christ. FaithPointe studensts is a place where students will be challenged to grow in their relationship with God, share Christ, and serve others.
Over the next few weeks I'm imparting these values into our leaders and students. I want it to become apart of the regular leadership conversation that goes on between my adult and student leaders. I want itnto be apart of our FaithPoint Student DNA so to speak.
It's all about to be W.A.C.C. YO! Ha...just kiddin'!
